Proper storage and transportation help maintain your cornhole set for years to come. Here are three simple tips for protecting your cornhole boards and bags.

Tip #1: Never store boards face-to-face

Storing boards face-to-face can scratch and damage the paint. Whether you lay them upright or on their sides, store your boards back-to-back. Don’t slam or throw your boards down after you’re done playing. They may be sturdy, but rough play can cause damage.

Tip #2: Keep boards clean, dry and cool and occasionally freeze the bags

To remove dirt and dust, in between uses, consider wiping the boards with a damp cloth or warm, soapy water. Slick Woody’s boards are made of wood, so they should be stored in a cool, dry location to avoid warping.

Want another layer of protection? Add a clear coat of polyurethane or cover your boards with a tarp or cloth while in storage. Either way, you’ll protect your boards from dust and dirt.

Cornhole bags

To avoid mold, store your cornhole bags in a moisture-free location. Keep dirt and animals away by storing in an airtight plastic container.

Looking for a way to make your cornhole bags last longer? Occasionally, freeze them for 24 hours to kill bugs that may have crawled inside and eaten the corn.

Tip #3: Invest in a carrying case

A carrying case is a great investment if you attend tournaments or away games. A carrying case adds another layer of protection while transporting and storing your cornhole board and bags. Keep in mind it won’t protect them entirely, so you’ll still need to handle them with care.
